The botanical garden in Sofia
The Sofia Summer Fest - it is a festival that takes place in South park and continues a whole summer - every day there is some kind of concert or a movie or sth else, the atmosphere is very nice and I think more young people should know about it
Concerts in general
The Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo is a must-visit for everybody!! It is related to the Second Bulgarian Tsardom and the Asenevtsi brothers. The atmosphere there is insanely cool - you learn about their rule and also enjoy the flabbergasting nature views!
To me an activity that more young people should know about is attending theatres or ballets, or operas. The youngsters know about those places but they lack interest or still haven’t found the beauty in the art they could see there.
sofia art and music festival
Near my home in Slatina (a district of Sofia) there are excavation sites which reveal one of the oldest civilizations in Europe. They reveal just how far back the history of our land goes.
Theatres! Classical music concerts!
Nowadays not many young people go to these places and I think that should be changed.
The Nesebar old town for sure! It is beautiful and especially when it is the tourism season you can meet so much different and interesting people.I go there every summer for 6 years now and I cannot imagine not visiting it again.Even though I have been there I just feel the need to experience the beauty and symbolic character of this place once again every year.
In my opinion, people should know that here in Sofia we have a mosque,a synagogue and churches. That is important because it shows our respect for all people's cultural beliefs.
Hello, I think that more young person should go and explore the museum “The earth and man” in Sofia, Bulgarian. In the last few years museum are not a priority for teenagers to visit, but actually they hide a lot of interesting sites. The museum has many fascinating things for people to discover - like types of stones and gems.
More young people should visit Baba Vanga House (St Petka Rupite) because I believe as a spiritual temple this place has a magical atmosphere.
Place: Saint Anastassia Island (formally Bolshevik Island)
Activity: Strandzha folk dances
Event: July Morning celebrations (1 July every year)
- This is for the city of Burgas - the fourth largest one in Bulgaria.
A cultural event that’s suitable for young people is the jazz festival, held every year at the start of july in the so-called Kucheshki park( the dogs’ park next to mall Park Center). There are drinks and food booths, live jazz music, people sitting on blankets and so on. The atmosphere is very inspiring, youthful and overall cheerful.
If I can choose one cultural place that all young people should know about it will be the Bachkovo monastery, the second largest monastery in Bulgaria, located about 30 km. from Plovdiv.
It was founded in 1803 by two brothers, and it reflects Byzantine, Georgian, and Bulgarian cultural influences in the Rhodope Mountains. It is famous for its 14th-century icon of the Virgin Mary, which many believe has healing powers.
One cultural place in my city that more young people should know about is Regional History Museum Sofia. It is special because it combines fascinating exhibitions about the city’s past with beautiful architecture and a lively location next to the mineral springs. It matters for young people because it helps us understand how our city has evolved and how history shapes our identity today. The museum also hosts engaging events and exhibitions that make culture feel accessible and relevant.
